Last Thursday, we hosted a webinar to unveil one of the most important innovations in OctoPerf's recent history: OctoPerf AI and our new MCP Server.
If you have been using OctoPerf for a while, you know that we are not the kind of company that follows technology trends for the sake of marketing. Over the past months, AI has become impossible to ignore. At every conference, every booth seems to promote an AI-powered solution.
We deliberately took a different approach.
Rather than adding AI features as quickly as possible, we spent time identifying where AI could create real value for performance testing teams. Our goal was simple: build something useful, secure, and practical for day-to-day testing activities.
The result is OctoPerf AI, powered by a production-ready MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server that we introduced in detail in our dedicated launch article.

What Is the OctoPerf MCP Server?¶
The OctoPerf MCP Server allows Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Mistral, or locally hosted models to interact directly with OctoPerf through its APIs.
Once connected, your AI assistant gains access to the context and capabilities required to help throughout the entire performance testing lifecycle.
This includes:
- Performance test scripting,
- Variable creation and management,
- Correlation and dynamic data handling,
- Test strategy recommendations,
- Test execution assistance,
- Result analysis,
- Report generation,
- General performance testing guidance.

More Than a Proof of Concept¶
One point we wanted to emphasize during the webinar is that this is not a prototype or a technology preview.
OctoPerf AI and the MCP Server are production-ready features that have already been deployed to the OctoPerf SaaS platform.
They are available today and included in every OctoPerf license, including the free tier.
Why We Built It¶
For many teams, scripting remains one of the biggest barriers to successful performance testing adoption. Our mission has always been to make performance testing more accessible, and we believe AI can significantly reduce the complexity involved in creating and maintaining tests.
By combining the capabilities of modern LLMs with direct access to OctoPerf through MCP, we are taking another step toward making performance testing faster, easier, and more accessible for everyone. It is the same direction we explored in our article on bridging open source and enterprise performance testing.
